Why You MUST Make Empowerment Part of Your Life and Career
So in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been on a bit of a high since my Fearless & Fabulous Summer Soiree at She Winks this past Monday night! It was a surreal evening of female empowerment, talent, creativity, passion, love, and support all under one glamorous roof and I truly could not be more pleased with the way the event went.
Before I share some photos of the evening, I just wanted to express my deepest gratitude toward Ramona and Julie of She Winks lash studio. I found these two beauties early this year when desperately searching for a clean, posh, glamorous space I could go to have my first-ever set of mink lash extensions done before a series of live television appearances. If you don’t know me well, then let me fully disclose that I am pretty much a diva when it comes to cleanliness and good practices with beauty routines (but really, if you’re reading this blog, then I know you are too). So when I was researching lash extension studios, I did my homework. I refused to go anywhere that looked even remotely sketchy, and I was simultaneously on the hunt for an ultra glam space that would serve me a glass of champagne — or two — to help me keep my eyeballs closed for an hour (I am just a tad bit high energy. Are you shocked?).
Enter She Winks.
I mean, just walking into this space instantly makes you feel so feminine and gorgeous! Is this not a match made in Champagne Diet heaven!?
Not only was She Winks a gorgeous space, but my stylist Stacy did a phenomenal job on my lashes and seriously has been making me look like and feel like a living doll for months. Seriously, she is major.
So me being the business woman that I am, I immediately started researching She Winks because I just knew I had to connect with whoever was running this beauteous brand. I read up on Ramona and Julie and knew I had to meet them in person to learn more about their journey. After a night of cocktails, girl talk, and bubbly bonding, I decided to feature them both in my upcoming book GIRL CODE (more on that soon). Their passion, energy, and drive to succeed is infectious. And by the end of our night, we had our June 15th Fearless & Fabulous event all mapped out.
Because that’s how bosses roll.
We decided that we wanted the evening to be all about what we’re most passionate about — empowering other women. We all expressed our disappointment that there are not enough events to encourage the growth of other women entrepreneurs or even other women who just want to be better in their lives and/or careers. Sadly, negativity often takes over and not enough women focus on lifting one another up. We are on a mission to change that, and you can certainly say last night was our kick off.
The studio was nearly packed right at 7 PM on the dot, even despite some treacherous thunderstorms, and for that I am so grateful. As the woman piled in, everyone began to mingle and sip on champagne provided by the ultra fab Moet (I mean, hello? Could we have done better?), and delicious and healthy hors d’oeuvre provided by Figure Friendly Kitchen. Soon, we were ready to be inspired. I decided to do a reading from my book, Fearless & Fabulous: 10 Powerful Strategies for Getting Anything You Want in Life, because I have found the common denominator among women who feel stuck or blocked in some way is fear. Click here to catch a short video clip of my talk. I’ve got lots to say on this topic.
After my reading I opened up the floor for Q&A, and we all had a chance to connect. I think this was probably the most powerful part of the evening. We all share the same fears, the same insecurities, and the same challenges as women. It doesn’t matter what your background is, what your passion is, or where you are headed. Every single one of us has dealt with so many of the same issues along the way and I believe it’s so crucial that we openly share that. You never know who you are inspiring by sharing your story. Again, this is why GIRL CODE is going to be a game changer. I get chills when I think about it.
After tears and more champagne (don’t worry, we laughed too!), and a delicious dessert table provided by Jessweets Bakery, it was time to sign some books and meet some amazing ladies!
The night wrapped up on such a high note, it’s hard to articulate if you weren’t there. If I was ever more sure of my calling in life, it was last night. Being around such positive women who just want to share and be inspired was a blessing. Meeting so many of you who have been impacted by my books or my words truly made me feel so thankful and so motivated to keep living and breathing The Champagne Diet brand. When you embrace every single thing about yourself, when you openly share your story, when you look to help others in a genuine way, and when you constantly look for ways to add sparkle to your life, big things happen.
So once again, thank you to every single woman who showed up last night. Thank you to every single woman who is reading this. I can’t wait to continue connecting with all of you. You are all more amazing than you know.
